A duvet is like a slip-cover for a blanket...a great way to cover-up an old & worn-out comforter to give it longer use! Or we use it at our house to cover a down/feather tick blanket for cold winter months. This patchwork duvet pattern with button-opening at one end includes patterns for Twin, Full/Queen, and King size beds, yardage requirements, fabric suggestions as well as two different pillow sham options. From Kwik Sew Pattern Company.
About Candle on the Hill:
"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16
We are family-owned and operated company in the beautiful state of Wisconsin. We purchased Candle on the Hill from the Rehberg's in March of 2007. The beginnings of Candle on the Hill started some years back when Krista Rehberg began making her own sewing patterns after not being able to readily find modest and comfortable sewing patterns. Then friends and family began asking for her to make them patterns. Soon word spread and requests from people around the US and even overseas began to come to their mailbox. She drafted and custom-sized the patterns by hand with lots of time, work, love and care, right at their kitchen table amidst caring for their little ones and home.
These early patterns were revised and improved over time. Written instructions were added, as well as standard sizes for each design to meet the need to keep up with the rapidly growing requests for patterns. After much prayer, thinking, and lots and lots of hard work, the Rehbergs planned, reorganized, and established as a business. What started as sewing patterns for Amish-Mennonite ladies has grown and expanded to meet the design requests of others seeking patterns for modest and comfortable clothing.
Today we serve customers of many backgrounds across the US, Canada and overseas. The online shop opened in September of 2004 and we added sewing patterns from other designers, as well as books on learning homemaking skills. We also have added hard-to-find cloth diapering products and some natural home products. We still strive to give love, care, and personal touch to all work, products, and efforts. Each order is packed with care in hopes that it may be a blessing to our customers and their families. We are continually seeking to improve and work on new designs and ideas. We pray for all our “keepers at home” (Titus 2:3-5) customers, in their labors creating homes of faith, love, good cheer, and rejoicing, a refuge of comfort and peace for their families. And in being witnesses of modesty, femininity, Biblical womanhood, and kindheartedness. We hope to provide modest, feminine sewing patterns and homemaking resources as just a small help in making your light shine brightly before men as a witness of faith and new life in the Lord.
We appreciate you and all your kindness, patience, and understanding as we continue to work with all the un-fulfilled back orders. We realize that there are many customers who did not receive their orders due to the declining health of the Rehbergs. If you have an outstanding order that has not yet been filled, please e-mail us with the original order and we will get that filled for you. We thank you for all your feedback, thoughts, comments, and ideas for new products. We greatly enjoy your notes, letters and photos of your families and photos your recent sewing projects. Please let us know if you have questions, if there is a new pattern or product you would like to see or can't seem to find, we're here to help!
God bless!
